The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has
decided to fine 24,376 government worker and 4 ex-ministers for failing
to furnish property details timely.
They will be fined Rs 5,000 each, according to the anti-graft body. CIAA
Spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar said those failing to furnish details
of their property as per existing law include former ministers, and
teachers among others. Former ministers failing to make public property
details are former finance minister Ram Sharan Mahat, former energy
minister Radha Kumari Gyawali and former minister for woman Nilam KC.
Spokesperson Pushkar said 52 incumbent lawmakers that include top
leaders of major parties have also failed to furnish property details.
